Games you play by throwing your phone.
GyroArcade makes games you play by moving your phone for real: no joystick, no screen to tap. The sensors every phone carries measure the move, and the game ranks it. The first game is Looping: throw your phone, make it spin, catch it.
The gyroscope reads the spin dozens of times a second, and the accelerometer tells when the phone is in free fall. The score is computed by the game's server from those raw readings: nobody can send a score, only a throw.
Any throw can become a link: your friend opens it, sees your score and throws to beat it. There is a world leaderboard, a weekly one that starts over every Monday, and a party mode for several players on one phone.
Throw over a bed or a sofa, keep a case on, and start low: a throw thirty centimetres up with a single turn is already ranked.
Looping runs in the browser, on iPhone and on Android. No account is needed: the first throw creates an anonymous one.
