GyroArcade

Games you play by throwing your phone.

What is GyroArcade?

GyroArcade makes games you play by moving your phone for real: no joystick, no screen to tap. The sensors every phone carries measure the move, and the game ranks it. The first game is Looping: throw your phone, make it spin, catch it.

How to play

  1. Tap “Play”, then “Ready”: a three-second countdown starts.
  2. Throw your phone with some spin, and catch it.
  3. The result shows the loops, the total rotation and the top spin speed.
  4. Throw again to beat your record, or dare a friend with a link.

Measured, not guessed

The gyroscope reads the spin dozens of times a second, and the accelerometer tells when the phone is in free fall. The score is computed by the game's server from those raw readings: nobody can send a score, only a throw.

Made to dare your friends

Any throw can become a link: your friend opens it, sees your score and throws to beat it. There is a world leaderboard, a weekly one that starts over every Monday, and a party mode for several players on one phone.

Play it safe

Throw over a bed or a sofa, keep a case on, and start low: a throw thirty centimetres up with a single turn is already ranked.

Free, nothing to install

Looping runs in the browser, on iPhone and on Android. No account is needed: the first throw creates an anonymous one.
